The FDC set up an information centre next to the buyer registration counter of “FILMART” for continuously showing the video featuring the selected footage of the works of the new generation directors to attract the attention of the film practitioners from all over the world. In addition, the information centre aimed to showcase the vibrancy and creative ideas of the new generation directors and to promote the various activities of the “Hong Kong Film New Action” programme.
The FDC also set up a promotional booth at the exhibition venue of “FILMART” to promote more than 30 new generation directors and the concepts and styles of their works. Appointment service was also available so that the new generation directors could meet with investors, distributors and buyers from around the world.
Inside the venue of the “Hong Kong Film New Action” Business Forum, a separate area was designated to provide opportunities for the new generation directors to explore business opportunities with investors, distributors and buyers from around the world. For promotion purpose, VCDs of selected works of the new generation directors were distributed to the forum participants so as to let them further understand the film styles of the new generation directors.
During the 4-day promotional sessions, many film investors from the Mainland and other places requested to meet the new generation directors. These meetings provided opportunities for film practitioners from the Mainland and overseas to know more about the new generation directors and to discuss co-operation with them directly.
